Sisters

I really hope that our girls grow up to be close. Having two brothers and no sisters myself I'm not really sure as their mom how I can encourage their relationship. My friend Kellie says that she thinks it's important not to show favoritism. I think that can be true for brothers too. Any other suggestions from the sisters out there?

I don't have any suggestions, but I hope they are close as well! I grew up with a brother 4 years younger than me and we had VERY different interests. I always wanted a sister and hope my kids are closer together in age.

PS - I thought Kate a top side pony-tail (like Pebbles) at first - the fabric on the blanket makes it look that way and I was shocked she had so much hair...

Although I, too, have no sisters, just the fact that my bros and I are all pretty close in age is a big part of what makes us so close.
So, being that Caroline and Kate are chronologically close I think will seal that fate. :)

I have a sister :-) I think that Caroline and Kate being close in age will help. Steph and I are pretty good pals.. My mom might have some ideas :-) I think they're well on their way to being buds

Love,
Shannon

PS- When Caroline needs some " my little sister is driving me nuts advice" I'm always here

No matter what you do, they will be close. They will also hate each other and fight and be intensely cruel at times, especially those times when they are both hormonal, but they will end up close.

Our mom did a good job helping us be close by always saying, "I can't have your relationship with your sister for you. Go work it out." She also taught us to kiss each other a lot and offer up compliments as often as possible. Now our house is a kiss factory with "you're so pretty" and "i lovey you" echoing off the walls, which works wonders for speeding up the healing when the fights do happen.

Sisters are awesome. Mine mean more to me than anything.

Give them their own rooms when they hit middle school. My sister has two girls close in age, and I think their room might suffer a spontaneous combustion soon.
