Wedding With Kids

We attended my brother-in-law's wedding this past weekend. Brian and Loren are two of the sweetest people I know and I think everyone was as ecstatic as I was when they became engaged last Christmas. Plus they have been a couple for like ten years or something so this wedding was long anticipated. It was an outdoor wedding at an old estate in Louisville and very beautiful. Having a toddler at a wedding however is a lot of work! David and I were exhausted by the end of the evening. Even as closely as we tried to watch her Caroline managed to turn off the music during Brian and Loren's first dance. Oops! Sorry Brian and Loren!

The bridal party. That's David with his hand in front of his face. Daddy and his girl.Jonah had an awesome time with his cousins. Doesn't he look handsome in his tie? So far Jonah is the only grandson. The new baby will be the ninth granddaughter. Both of my kids were dancing fools. I find that ironic since David and I didn't even have dancing at our wedding. I wish I had gotten some better footage of them both from later in the evening. Here's Caroline taking a spin though.

David and I weren't the only ones worn out. Caroline passed out before the car left the parking lot.Congratulations Brian and Loren!

Pool Time!

I love to go to the pool and this past summer was no exception. Like last summer we got a pool pass to the public pools. Lexington has really nice public pools with slides, diving boards, sprinklers, and even playground equipment. David doesn't care so much for the pool but luckily the kids enjoy it as much as I do. It didn't take long for Caroline to love the pool. Caroline was much like Jonah when he was little and totally fearless in the water, which actually scares me a little.

Isn't Caroline cute in her bikini? Caroline and Bubby, Caroline's pet name for Jonah now.

Caroline mastered the kiddie slide in no time.Jonah and his buds.David doesn't like the public pool but he did hang out with Caroline some in the baby pool we got for the back yard.
The bad thing about the pool this past summer was that I had to get my first maternity bathing suit. Since Jonah was born in February and Caroline in April I never needed one before. Boo!

More from the Zoo

When you have a new child you can't wait to share new experiences with them, like holidays or in this case going to the zoo. I have found that most of the time the actual first experience doesn't turn out to be nearly as great as what I had pictured in my mind. I had been excited about taking Caroline to the zoo. Jonah and I had always had a good time at the zoo. The first part of the trip was very nice. But the second half was pretty awful. She got tired and cranky and refused to sleep in her stroller. It was extremely hot also. I'll just remember the first half of the trip I think.

Daddy and Caroline at the petting zoo. The petting zoo was fun.

Photos of Jonah with various animals. These photos crack me up for some reason. It's like Jonah has his own wildlife show. Jonah felt that we should take a picture of every single creature that we saw. He confiscated my camera several times and took pictures of everything. I deleted at least 50 pictures. We'll go to the zoo again. I really don't need photos like this...Yuck!

We Found My Camera!

Yes! After months of searching and after David even bought me a new camera for our anniversary this past week, we found my camera. It had fallen down the crack of our recliner and ended up underneath the seat in some netting. David happened to turn the recliner completely over to replace a screw and found it. Yay!

When looking at the pictures on my original camera it became very clear to me how much Caroline has changed in just a few short months. It's amazing. And that I really needed to update my blog.

Here is a picture of David, Jonah, and Caroline at the Cincinnati zoo in May or June. I can't remember for sure.
Here is a picture of David and Caroline just on David's birthday, September 13th. (It was only a matter of time before we put a UK cheerleader outfit on her.)
Mainly her hair has gotten longer. But this girl is busy, busy, busy! And a complete dare devil. I can barely keep up. Just in time for my third trimester I might add. She is into everything. Climbs everything. And runs everywhere. Jonah wasn't nearly as busy. I decided that the new baby is just going to have to live in a sling so I can chase around big sis.

Here's a sample of what I'm talking about. Caroline wait for mommy!

I have more photos to post, largely from over the summer, that I am determined to get to this week. So check back!
